Una trágica caída dividió la vida de la gimnasta de circo Veronika Savoyskaya en «antes» y «después». Antes: una carrera estelar, un marido querido y un embarazo largamente esperado. Ahora, una silla de ruedas, abatimiento y soledad. Prácticamente hundida, Veronika intenta encontrar fuerzas para reconstruir su vida: aprender a andar y volver a su profesión. Conocer al legendario gimnasta Leonid Piylatov, que una vez se levantó a sí mismo de una silla de ruedas, la llena de confianza en que volverá a brillar bajo la cúpula.
